UK Holiday Pay Calculator

About UK Holiday Pay Calculator

This site exists to make UK holiday pay rules easier to apply. Whether you're an employer working out what to pay or an employee checking what you're entitled to, the calculators here give you a specific, defensible answer with the maths shown.

Why we built this

The Working Time Regulations 1998 were significantly rewired in April 2024. The new rules introduce a 12.07% accrual method for irregular-hours and part-year workers, reinstate rolled-up holiday pay for those groups, and codify a 52-week reference period for variable-pay calculations. Most generalist calculators online have not been updated for any of this. We aim to be the one that gets it right.

Where the rules come from

The calculators implement the Working Time Regulations 1998 (as amended by the Employment Rights (Amendment, Revocation and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2023). We cross-reference the official ACAS guidance on checking holiday entitlement and gov.uk's holiday entitlement guidance. Bank holiday dates come from the official gov.uk bank holiday feed.

What we don't do

We are not a substitute for legal, financial, or HR advice. The calculators apply the published rules correctly but specific contracts and circumstances vary. For binding guidance, please contact ACAS (0300 123 1100) or an employment law specialist.
